Support Session Resources

Below you will find resources that you will access during your support sessions on the Believe Project.

We support individuals to better understand and recognise patterns of addictive behaviour through the use of guided conversations and our questionnaires. We provide onward signposting to commissioned health and specialist services for more structured support where needed. Our approach is non-judgemental and focused on helping individuals take positive first steps towards change.

We help build confidence in essential day-to-day tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and managing a household. This includes developing routines, creating cleaning schedules, planning meals, and supporting effective budgeting.

We encourage clients to make positive lifestyle choices that support their overall wellbeing. We use tools such as sleep diaries, food diaries, lifestyle checks, and exercise tracking. Our support helps clients identify patterns and make achievable, sustainable changes.

We support clients to develop a better understanding of healthy and unhealthy relationship dynamics. This includes recognising red flags in themselves and others, setting and maintaining personal boundaries, and building positive communication skills.

We provide a safe and supportive space for individuals to talk about their mental health and wellbeing. Our support includes mindfulness techniques, active listening and practical support to help individuals better understand and manage their mental health. Where needed, we provide onward signposting to counselling and specialist services.

We promote the importance of taking time for oneself and maintaining a healthy balance in daily life. This includes exploring mindfulness techniques, relaxation strategies, and encouraging engagement in hobbies or activities that bring enjoyment. We support clients to prioritise their own wellbeing.

We help clients build and strengthen positive social connections to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing. This includes identifying existing support networks and signposting to community groups, activities, and local services. Our aim is to help individuals feel more connected and supported and we can attend groups alongside a client to help build their confidence.

We support clients to explore opportunities in employment, volunteering, and education. This may include building confidence, identifying goals, and accessing relevant training or support services. We aim to help clients move towards meaningful and fulfilling opportunities.
