Believe Community of Practice Leads the Way in Supporting Vulnerable Mothers Across Cheshire

The Believe Community of Practice, facilitated by Her- Place, continues to grow as a vital space for professionals and organisations working to support mothers at risk of child removal. Through collaboration, shared learning, and solution-focused dialogue, the Community is tackling some of the region’s most pressing social care challenges.

Kate Blakemore, CEO of Her-Place and lead for the Believe Community of Practice, said:
“We are passionate about creating systemic change by supporting mums who are often overlooked or stigmatised. Our work isn’t just about preventing child removal—it’s about giving women hope, tools, and real chances to move forward.”

The Community of Practice meets monthly online and brings together professionals from social care, criminal justice, health, and third-sector organisations. These sessions create a safe, constructive space to share challenges, celebrate successes, and influence service development across Cheshire.

Next Training Dates

July 16th – We’re hosting the Believe Ambassador Training Course, a one-day hybrid event. This will be held both in-person in Crewe and via Zoom from 9:30am to 3:30pm. This training will provide essential tools for those supporting mums and pregnant women at risk. Plus, it’s a chance to become a certified Believe Ambassador.

NEW Winsford HUB opens

A New Year and a great start for our Winsford and Northwich Believe clients who will be getting the benefit or our new Winsford Hub. Clients will be able to make the most of our local offer including use of the laundrette, a variety of drop ins and training courses, a community space to sit and chat and of course a private meeting room for support sessions. 2 of our Believe Support workers will be based from the Winsford Hub and our Share Hub can also be accessed from here.

Ellesmere Port – Taking new referrals

Our Ellesmere Port service is now accepting referrals directly from mums and from partner agencies. We currently have spaces and will be based at Stanney Grange Community centre on Tuesday mornings for anyone who wants to drop in and have a chat about the service and whether its right for you. Support sessions can also take place here and at other community venues.

Merry Christmas
